Osprey Nest Webcam

Thank you for following our osprey family this season.

It is a very sad year. We have lost all four of our osprey chicks. We don’t know why but this is how nature works sometimes. Fortunately, since this project began in 2005 we have successfully fledged two to four healthy chicks each year. Our osprey population is growing. This is a sad ending to our season; hopefully next year will be better.

Thank you for watching!

Other Notes:

Osprey born several years ago will be returning this year and will be looking for nesting sites. We did erect one new nest platforms this spring at a private property on Beavertail.

Nest sites on Conanicut Island have increased every year with thirty known sites available for 2025. Not bad since we only had one in 2005!

Happy couple at a new nest platform on Beavertail in 2024.
